Scholarships and Financial Support
Students have the opportunity for Federal Work Study, paid internships, and merit-based awards. History majors have priority for certain designated scholarships. In the past, students have also had the opportunity to receive external grant funding.

John Lamb Scholarship

Lamb Scholarship Recipient
This $2,500 scholarship honors John Lamb, Professor Emeritus of History.
Criteria:
- Recipient is to be a Junior or Senior history major and full-time student
- Recipient is to have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
- The history faculty play a role in selecting the recipient.
Lockport Women's Club Pat Darin Annual Internship in Public History
This is a $2,000 internship opportunity.
Criteria:
- Scholarship/internship to be awarded annually to a ±¬ÁÏ¹Ï student (prefer History major)
- Awarded and administered through ±¬ÁÏ¹Ï History Center
- Recipient will spend approximately 8 hours a week working on a history project to be determined by the Director of the History Center
- Recipient agrees to prepare and make a presentation to such interested local organizations as Lockport Woman's Club
- One-semester pilot program for $2000 internship stipend.
James P. Sczepaniak Endowed Scholarship
The amount of the scholarship awarded is determined yearly by the Office of Financial Aid Services.
Criteria:
- Recipient is to be a history or social science major
- The Director of Financial Aid has discretion over the selection of the students.
BRUCE D. CHEADLE MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
This $2,050 scholarship was established in 1991 by a generous gift from Mrs. Hazel Cheadle.
Criteria:
           1. Applicant must be a history major.
           2. Preference is given to residents of Lockport Township, Will County, Illinois.
           3. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student at ±¬ÁϹÏ.
           4. Applicant must demonstrate a genuine financial need.
           5. Applicant must maintain a good academic standing in order to renew.
