Through the Lens of H. H. Carter, a temporary exhibit at the Gaylord Historic Site, invites visitors to experience everyday life in early 20th-century Lockport through the eyes of local pharmacist and pioneering street photographer H. H. Carter. The exhibit commemorates the 150th anniversary of Carter’s birth. All materials are from ±¬ÁϹϒs Howard and Lois Adelmann Regional History Collection (ARHC). 

Featuring large format prints and a digital slideshow, the exhibit showcases Carter’s candid photographs of Lockport between 1910 and 1915. Three interpretive panels provide insight into Carter’s life, his impact on the community, and his legacy.
