Bio: 

Dr. Oguzhan Batmaz holds an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Kansas. His research focuses on macroeconomics, international trade, and energy/environmental economics, with publications in several respected peer-reviewed journals. His current projects include studies on preference reversal and quantitative easing, trade strategies in a protected market, impact of foreign aid and trade openness on labor productivity growth, and forecasting economic recessions using economic policy uncertainty and machine learning techniques.

Dr. Batmaz has taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He is deeply committed to mentoring students, particularly in the areas of macro, monetary and international economics. He also serves as a referee for several respected peer-reviewed journals, including the Eastern Economic Journal, Innovation and Development, and The Australian Economic Review.

Dr. Batmaz enjoys spending time with his family. In his free time, he is an enthusiastic cyclist, hiker, and soccer player.
